[After Sunday's events, Cantarella is eager to meet the small girl who'd immediately stepped up in the chaos following Giyuu's disappearing—if they can even call it that.
She's not entirely pleased to be doing so with the state she's in, but nearer the end of the day Monday, she'll leave wherever she's hunkered down and go searching for her. Where will a jellyfish find a cat?]
I do hope your efforts yesterday have not been in vain. [She doesn't mention her own, and after a quick pause, she follows up.] No... I'm certain they were not.
[Cantarella chuckles. She still feels in almost every wayJust...one that's become vaguely translucent and begun to sprout sheer, lacy growths where a human being's hair should be. One whose skin might breathe just a little better in the safety under a current of water. Those tendrils do have a crepe-in-the-wind quality, though, which could be very appealing to a curious kitty cat.]
And I've caught wind of no coughing since then, only these explicable little additions...They don't seem to cause any pain, so I believe the best we can do would be to monitor them. [A bit pointedly:] Which you seem to be doing.
[ She forgets herself for a moment and looks very excited.
With the continued talk of the others, she will reel herself in for a moment. Clearing her throat. ]
I am an apothecary... taking care of others is part of the job. It's looking more and more likely that it's something that only targeted him. Something to ensure that it all goes how it should.
[ She doesn't like the idea of there being an unknown power at play. Everything has an answer, and while supernatural can be an answer, it is very rarely the case.
Her tails swishes and her attention once again goes to those lovely tendrils... ]
"How it should," is it? [She mulls it over in her sore mouth. At the moment, there's nothing pointing to the contrary. The videos of people changing form found in the library linger at the back of Cantarella's mind, but there's been no coughing and no ichor.
But while she's musing, Maomao's tail is swishing, and Cantarella glances at her shimmering hair.]
Just a little tickle, if anything. Most jellyfish are simply curious and wish to gently brush against you, carrying you on soft clouds of sensation. Besides, I'm not feeling particularly toxic today.
[It's later in the day by the time she makes her way down to the reptile house, determined at least to trudge through the cold and see what's slipped through the cracks and manifested in their strange location that's got everyone a-flurry.
Upon seeing the creatures, so many of them halfway familiar and so many of them completely alien, and taking her time walking through to the back of the exhibits, Cantarella wouldn't be surprised to find Maomao here, whether she's just looking or trying to harvest something from the residents of the reptile house.
But what state will Maomao be in when Cantarella finds her? That's the question.]
It's certainly possible. We've heard that places exist that we cannot see or enter...and this is a space in which impossible mutations are as common as the rain.
This place, though...I'd have never imagined all these little ones would be here directly under our noses, hehe.
[She's looking at the maybe-harmless, maybe-dangerous snake, smiling like she's looking at a kitten at the pound.]
Hmm... I am starting to miss the smell of the sea. An aquarium would be close enough. Be gentle with ingredients you've little experience handling, though, won't you? I can't in good conscience take responsibility for any laxity in caution.
[She studies the snake in the enclosure for a few moments, as if taking the moment to memorize its appearance.]
What's the more dangerous sort look like? I don't know that we have these species.
I will be gentle. I have been thinking of taking precautions in case this isn't something I can handle.
[ She will shift the snake carefully to one hand before gesturing for her to follow. She will lead her towards the venomous snakes. ]
For this one in particular, it's the color pattern. It looks similar to one with a different pattern that is venomous. However, going from color alone isn't ideal. [ Just works with these two in particular ] Another way to tell is from their head shape and where their eyes are located.
w1, monday

Her ears will flick towards Cantarella as she approaches ]
Knowing that no one else has caught it does make it worth it. [ She also took it as an opportunity to learn more about others.
She then turns to look at Cantarella and immediately her pupils get large like a cat does. ]
Am I correct to assume you're a jellyfish?

normal. She does seem to be inspecting a species of snake that looks like one of the venomous kinds, but the color order is wrong in comparison.
She will look up to see Cantarella and give her a nod ]
Greetings. I wonder if more places like this will open up in the future?

She will follow her gaze to the snake she has ]
This one is harmless, but it looks like one that could harm you.
